Black Tri Tribe turned two in 2024! - Community Spotlight!
We’re looking back at 2024 and celebrating the achievements of our community throughout the year.
Next up is Black Tri Tribe who turned two in 2024!
Despite having faced challenges, they’ve made a huge impact in their community. Continuing to grow and expand their offerings. They now run a variety of events including: Community Walks, Swim Sessions & Triathlon Events in both London and Brighton.
Do you have any 2024 highlights?
Annakay (BTT’s project co-ordinator) shared:
“One of our proudest achievements has been the success of our swimming program, which has significantly increased water safety awareness and confidence among participants. Additionally, our walks have brought together a diverse group of people, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
Another highlight was our Brighton Triathlon on June 1st, 2024, where we tripled our numbers from previous years, welcoming participants aged 6 to 60. This event showcased the growing enthusiasm and inclusivity within our community.”
Do you have any lessons from 2024?
“If I could go back in time” Annakay shares, “I’d advise myself to prioritize self-care and delegate more effectively. Balancing the many facets of this role is rewarding but can be overwhelming without the right support systems in place.”
And so what’s next for 2025?
“Looking ahead, we’re excited to further expand our reach by launching more inclusive programs and fostering deeper community connections. A major goal for the next 12 months is to host even more successful triathlon events in both London and Brighton, building on the momentum from this year.”
A huge congratulations to the whole team on everything you’ve achieved!
