Who is The Outdoor Connection for?

This free event is for people who are working to break down barriers to the outdoors.  If you are thinking of setting up a group or already running a project or organisation in your community this event is for you. Travel expenses will be covered and a daily rate contribution for attendees will be paid. Overnight accommodation will be provided.

We are limiting attendance to one person per organisation as previous event experience tells us that the event is the most valuable for everyone if lots of different organisations take part. If more than one person needs to attend to support accessibility, please just let us know. Priority will be given to members of the Outdoor Citizens and All the Elements communities. Spaces are limited.

When is it?

Starting late afternoon / early evening on Friday 25th April and finishing at lunchtime on Sunday 27th April 2025 at the YHA Castleton Losehill Hall (situated in the Hope Valley in the Derbyshire Peak District).

What will the event be like?

Workshops, funding opportunities, resources, networking, cross-sector connections and collaborations, outdoor activities, fun and laughter all focused on supporting grassroots groups and working together with others to create a more accessible and inclusive outdoors. You can see our TOC 2024 video here and delve into some fabulous TOC2022 and TOC2024 content, insights and reels here.

What were previous events like?

During The Outdoor Connection 2022 Illustrator Rebecca Osborne captured some of the sessions and themes that were talked about. Highlighting the range of topics covered. This shows a digitised version of her final drawing.

This image is an illustration of all the session notes. The yha building is drawn at the bottom left and there are different cartoon characters across it.
