6 week social media course from All the Elements X Purposeful Adventure Club
Do you run a community group supporting underrepresented people to access the outdoors? This 6 week social media course is designed for you.
Created in collaboration between All the Elements and Purposeful Adventure Club the course includes 11 modules covering different areas of social media and marketing to help you:
Use social media to promote your events and reach new members
Learn the tools to grow your online community
Understand best practice on social media, how to save time and have a bigger impact
Raise the profile of your community through social media
This course is currently fully funded through the YHA & Outdoor Citizens by Sport England. Enabling 8 successful applicants to attend the full course from the 20th January to the 5th March including 6 weeks of online support, a 1:1 session, and an in-person weekend free of charge.
Application deadline is the 28th December.
What does this course involve?
This course provides 6 weeks of online training and an in-person training day at Lee Valley YHA.
Including:
9 Online training sessions
6 Online workshops
3 In-person sessions
An in person drop-in session to answer your questions
A 1:1 session to get an hours tailored support for your group
6 Month Membership to Purposeful Adventure Club
Throughout the course we will join together 2 to 3 times per week for different social media training and peer to peer support.
As well as developing your own knowledge of the different platforms and how best to use them, you will also be developing a marketing guide that is specific to your community group that can be passed on and shared after the course has ended.
Who is this course for?
This course is specifically designed for community groups working within the outdoors. The sessions, guidance and examples used have been created to meet the needs of people running in-person events. This course would be suitable either for a community group leader or a community group member who is keen to take on the social media role.
Applicants for funded spaces must be from community groups supporting people from one or more of these areas:
· People with long term health conditions
· People with disabilities
· People from lower socio-economic groups
· People from culturally diverse communities
· Women and girls
· LGBTQ+ people
Additionally participants should:
Have basic social media skills, such as creating a post and navigating the app.
Already have social media platforms, you don’t need to be on every platform but it will be beneficial if you already have a presence.
Have 3-5 hours per week available to join the course and carry out any additional tasks
Be available from the 20th January to the 5th March
Be part of the All the Elements Network
Have at least 1 in-person event planned during the course
Be able to travel to Lee Valley YHA for the in-person day on the 4th March
